DRDO Recruitment for Scientist Details

Educational Qualifications and GATE Requirement
To be eligible for the Scientist B post, candidates must have a first-class Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline of engineering or science. The discipline should align with the subjects mentioned in the detailed official notification. Additionally, it is mandatory for all applicants to have a valid GATE score in the relevant subject. This ensures that the selection remains competitive and merit-based.
Age Limit and Relaxation for Different Categories
The upper age limit for general and EWS candidates is 35 years. However, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) applicants are granted a relaxation up to 38 years, while SC/ST candidates can apply until the age of 40 years. Moreover, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) are entitled to an additional 10 years of age relaxation, irrespective of their category. Candidates belonging to the General, EWS, and OBC (Male) categories are required to pay an application fee of ₹100. On the other hand, SC, ST, PwBD, and Women candidates across all categories are exempted from paying any application fee. The fee can be paid through various online modes including Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, UPI, and other digital payment options, making the process seamless and accessible.

After registering with a valid email ID and mobile number, the applicant needs to fill in all the required details in the online form. Important documents such as a passport-sized photograph, signature, GATE scorecard, and educational certificates should be uploaded in the specified format. After verifying all details, the application fee should be paid online. Lastly, candidates must submit the application and download a copy of the filled form for future reference.
